The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not-for-profit professional association whose members are engaged in energy resources, development and production. SPE is a key resource for technical knowledge related to the oil and gas exploration and production industry and provides services through its publications, events, training courses, and online resources.

The SPE Bergen Section arranges six (6) member meetings every year featuring local as international presenters through to the SPE Distinguished Lecturers program. During the year, the section host a variety of events for the E&P community including SPE Bergen Sailing,  SPE Bergen Lutefisk, SPE Bergen Young Professional Conference, SPE Bergen Tech-Nights (member meeting) and dedicated additional events for student member. SPE Bergen Section have been able to continuously grow and develop to deliver the main place for professionals in the Bergen E&P community to meet and to learn across disciplines and companies.
